My Testimony
Every Song Has a Story. Every Story Points to Jesus.
Every song has a story. Before there was CrossBorne Worship, there was a broken man in desperate need of a Savior.
I grew up in a broken home where fear was part of everyday life. Alcohol, violence, and abuse left deep wounds in my heart. From a young age, I was told I was worthless—that I was stupid and would never amount to anything. Those words became the voice I believed for many years.
As I grew older, the pain only deepened. I struggled with depression, anger, loneliness, addiction, pornography, and trying to fill the emptiness inside with anything I thought might numb the hurt. No matter what I tried, nothing brought lasting peace. Eventually, I reached a place where I didn’t want to live anymore.
Looking back now, I realize God had already begun drawing me to Himself long before I ever surrendered my life to Christ.
A few years earlier, while driving a dump truck, there were moments when God quietly began speaking to my heart. At the time, I didn’t fully understand what He was doing, but He was planting seeds that would eventually grow into complete surrender. What I thought were simply passing thoughts were actually the gentle voice of a loving Father patiently drawing me to Himself.
In what I now know was God’s mercy, I called my older brother, who had recently given his life to Christ. I poured out everything I was carrying, hoping he would somehow have an answer.
His response was simple: “Go to church.”
To be honest, my first thought wasn’t excitement. It was, “Religion? What could religion possibly do for me?” But I had reached the end of myself. So I finally decided to go.
Everything Changed
For the first time in my life, I heard hope instead of condemnation. God’s Word explained the emptiness, shame, loneliness, and brokenness I had carried for years.
One Sunday, I surrendered my life completely to Jesus Christ. That day didn’t make my life perfect—but it changed the direction of my life forever.
What I discovered wasn’t religion. I discovered a relationship with Jesus Christ that changed my life forever.
About three months after giving my life to Christ, while working construction one morning, I lit a cigarette.
For years, I had lived under the weight of depression, anger, loneliness, addiction, and brokenness. Smoking had become just another habit in a life that desperately needed hope. I had been smoking about a pack and a half a day for nearly ten years.
Then, without warning, something happened that I will never forget. It was as though a brilliant beam of white light surrounded me and shot straight through my heart.
In that moment, I experienced unconditional love for the very first time in my life. Not human love. The love of God.
I stood there trembling beneath the glory, power, and majesty of His presence. Words cannot fully describe what I experienced that day, but it forever changed me. Even now, nearly three decades later, when I think back on that moment, it still brings tears to my eyes.
The cigarette fell from my hand.
I never picked up another cigarette again. But the miracle wasn’t simply that a ten-year smoking habit ended in a single moment. The greater miracle was that God reached into my broken heart and showed me a love I had spent my entire life searching for.
That encounter changed everything. Jesus wasn’t simply taking away a habit—He was transforming my heart.
Jesus Still Changes Lives
That day, I began to understand something I still hold onto today: God doesn’t ask us to clean ourselves up before coming to Him.
I came to Jesus broken. Depressed. Angry. Lonely. Addicted. Ashamed. Yet He welcomed me exactly as I was.
That’s the beauty of the Gospel. God isn’t looking for perfect people. He’s looking for hearts that are willing to surrender to Him.
When we place our trust in Jesus Christ, He begins the work of changing us from the inside out.
Over the years, He has healed wounds I thought would never heal. He has broken chains that once controlled my life. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but Jesus has been faithful every step of the way.
Nearly three decades later, I can say with complete confidence that Jesus Christ is still faithful. The same grace that transformed my life is available to anyone who places their trust in Him.
Today, CrossBorne Worship exists because I want others to know the same Savior who rescued me. If God could transform a broken man like me, He can transform anyone who is willing to place their trust in Jesus Christ.
Every song I write was born from a real moment in my walk with Jesus Christ. Some were written in seasons of brokenness, others in seasons of healing, but every one of them is a testimony of God’s faithfulness.
My prayer is that as you listen to the music and read the story behind each song, you’ll discover the same hope that I found in Jesus Christ.
If you’re here searching for hope, I pray you’ll find it—not because of my story, but because of the Savior who changed it.
I invite you to listen to the music, read the story behind each song, and, if you’re carrying a burden today, visit the Prayer page. It would be a privilege to pray for you.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

Every Song Has a Story. Every Story Points to Jesus.
With gratitude in Christ,
